BIBL 2113 - The Pentateuch as Christian Scripture

In this course, students will be introduced to the subject matter, major themes, and literary contours of the Pentateuch, also known as the Torah. Attention will be given to theories of composition and critical methodologies associated with the academic study of Genesis through Deuteronomy, as well as confessional and hermeneutical frames of reference that emphasize the central role played by these five books in the context of both Jewish and Christian Scripture.
