BIBL 6293 - God and Covenant in the Old Testament

3 credits

This course provides a survey of Old Testament theology through the thematic lens of God’s covenant with Israel. Students will develop their understanding of how God is revealed, portrayed and described in the Old Testament, as well as the significant role that covenant plays in framing and facilitating God’s relationship to humanity as a whole, and the people of Israel in particular. Students will employ critical interpretive methods alongside guided theological reflection with the twin goals of understanding the Old Testament in its context and reading it as Christian Scripture.
