ENGL 2023H - Honors: Research Symposium 3 credits
In this course, students learn how arguments work and how to do research to build effective arguments. Drawing on the ancient discipline of rhetoric, the course requires students to analyze the arguments of others and to develop their own arguments by moving through each step in the research process from proposing an initial topic and annotating sources to drafting an outline and composing a full, researched essay. This course provides a foundation for future Honors capstone projects. This course also fulfills the requirements for ENGL 1023 for students who have not taken that course previously. Prerequisite: ENGL 1013 - Composition I: Stewarding Words , Acceptance in the Honors Program.
