Degree Requirements

The Master in Education (M.Ed) program equips post-baccalaureate candidates with strong academic credentials to become effective educators in diverse settings. This degree provides a solid foundation in instructional design, assessment, classroom management, and curriculum development. While it does not lead to Washington state teaching certification, it serves as a valuable pathway for individuals seeking to serve in private schools, community programs, and international institutions.

M.Ed graduates will be able to:

Holistic Educators

  1. Apply culturally responsive pedagogy aimed at the holistic learning of all students.

Adaptive Educators

  1. Strategically design and implement differentiated teaching, adapting instruction where appropriate to meet student needs while remaining aligned with learning standards.

Learner-Focused Educators

  1. Systematically engage in reflection, analyzing student work in order to further develop their own pedagogical practices.
