PMIN 3523 - Legal Issues in the Church


3 credits

A study of business and legal matters related to the local church, e.g., records and minutes; tax exemption; incorporation procedures; and laws of contracts, deeds and bonds. Criminal laws pertaining to ministerial malpractice, sexual harassment, discrimination and child-abuse are also examined. Christian responsibility for deferred giving and estate planning are considered. Attention also is given to polity (forms of church governance) with special emphasis on the Assemblies of God.
