This course is designed as an introduction to financial management, integrating both conceptual and mathematical information. The concepts of time value of money, valuation, risk, rates of return, cost of capital, capital budgeting, and portfolio analysis are covered. Students learn how capital markets function, about different types of securities and financing instruments that exist, and how to manage cash flow. Cases, comprehensive problems, and current events are analyzed and discussed throughout the course to provide students with hands on experience in the use and application of financial tools.
