BUSM 5283 - Business Data Analytics


3 credits

This course is a study of the emerging role of business analytics in organizations and how to apply basic business analytics tools. Key data science concepts, methods, and processes are examined. A central topic is big data analytics, which drives better and faster decision-making, predicting of future outcomes, and enhanced business intelligence. Issues for developing, managing, and supporting data-driven decision-making in business are addressed. Emphasis is placed on applications, concepts and interpretations of results, rather than theory and calculations. A computer software package may be required for data analysis.
