Degree Requirements
The Intercultural Studies major prepares students to effectively live, interact, and communicate the Gospel of Christ in a multicultural environment.
The Intercultural Studies major integrates classroom learning and theory with field experience. This program exceeds educational requirements for Assemblies of God ministry credentials. The program has two cores of emphasis: biblical and theological and intercultural skills and knowledge, with an optional international concentration.
Graduates with a degree in Intercultural Studies will be able to:
- Apply Scripture using proper hermeneutical principles.
- Evaluate distinct viewpoints on theological topics.
- Articulate a biblical philosophy of ministry.
- Demonstrate core pastoral competency in an applied intercultural setting.
- Develop culturally sensitive strategies for holistic cross-cultural ministry

This concentration is optional and will be completed during a semester abroad experience, with the site and host predetermined and arranged in consultation with a student’s advisor. The courses listed below will be completed during a student’s semester abroad, in addition to up to two (2) additional online Northwest University courses. General Electives: 20-26
